The fortunes of Kuala Lumpur have seen a small town grow into a spectacular, cosmopolitan city in just a century. The Federal Territory and the Klang Valley provide endless sightseeing opportunities close by Kuala Lumpur and a huge choice of day trip destinations are on hand. To the north, Fraser's Hill is a good place to experience local wildlife and Dusky Leaf Monkeys can often been seen high up in the trees. Families looking for excitement away from Kuala Lumpur often favour the resort of Genting Highlands, where various theme parks offer fast rides and even a cable-car trip over the rainforest.
