Kuala Lumpur Landmarks and Monuments: Petronas Twin Towers pictureAlthough Kuala Lumpur does not quite boast the mega attractions of neighbouring capital cities of Thailand and Singapore, it does have a good number of impressive landmarks and monuments, some of which are almost impossible to miss.

Chief among these are the Petronas Twin Towers and the KL Tower, lying close to one another, with these breathtaking landmarks dominating the skyline of Kuala Lumpur and adding much modern character to the city. Also very much of note within Kuala Lumpur is the Sultan Abdul Samad Building, which sits opposite Merdeka Square and harks back to the city's more historical colonial days.

The Petronas Twin Towers are situated within the heart of the Golden Triangle, in the Central Business District (CBD), and tower almost 1,500 feet above the capital, being two of the city's most famous landmarks. They provide outstanding views from the Skybridge on the 41st floor, which links the two towers, and are visible from just about anywhere you stand in Kuala Lumpur proper. While entry is free to the towers, only 800 tickets are issued daily so getting here early is a must. If you miss the cut-off point, check out the Suria KLCC shopping complex under the towers for upmarket shopping.
